The Graston Technique

New Effective Pain Relief Techniques

Soft tissue injuries can be frustrating to treat. With no obvious damage to the body, acute and chronic pain can linger on for no apparent reason, making it difficult to diagnose and treat your body.  Our experienced doctors at Lifetime Health and Wellness are practicing a new technique, the Graston Technique, which has had some very impressive results. Unlike classic spinal manipulation techniques, this newest method manipulates the sore areas directly, often relieving affected muscles and allowing the body to heal itself naturally.

A New Approach to Pain Relief at our Westminster and Broomfield locations

In our Westminster and Broomfield office we practice the newest and most effective forms of chiropractic medicine. The new Graston technique is designed to identify and treat the areas of muscular constriction that are causing you pain.

The technique used six custom tools. They're stainless steel concave and convex objects, designed to manipulate the muscles that are tightened, causing them to heal. These tools have rounded edges, and there are no sharp pieces to harm you. Our doctor will isolate the affected muscle, then brush or massage one of the Grafton tools in a crosswise motion, across the grain on the muscle. This creates a small amount of muscular trauma, which kick starts the healing process, causing the body to start to repair itself. You may feel some inflammation after the technique is finished, but that's a normal part of the healing process.

Tight muscles are only a small portion of the problems that can be dealt with by using the Graston Technique. We've had a high success rate with patients who’ve had both chronic and injury pain, increasing their function as well as reducing the pain and inflammation they suffer from. Neck and lower back pain are also among the areas where this technique has been used most successfully.

Have you had experience with this technique? What were your results?
